Lawn games and leisure sports are a wonderful way to appreciate the longer days and warm weather. They are approachable for many age ranges and skill levels and are a fun addition to any picnic or family game night! Expand your repertoire of outdoor activities as we explore, strategize, and play leisure sports together. Join us each session to learn the rules, history, and etiquette of a new lawn game.
We had a wonderful season of friendly competition learning new lawn games. Join us playing these games one last time before summer ends.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be certified as American Red Cross Lifeguards. Course includes CPR/AED and First Aid training. Prerequisites: Participants must be at least 16 years of age. Must complete the Pre-course test on September 6, 2026 (#25093).
Pre-course Test- Prerequisite 1: Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest by jumping into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed). Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs. Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Prerequisite 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed). Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 – 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out at or near the surface. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

Learn about invasive plant species around the park and help keep your local ecosystem healthy by joining us to remove invasive species! Volunteers will use loppers, hand clippers and other tools to remove Chinese Privet and Tree of Heaven.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and come prepared to walk off-trail with closed-toe shoes, long pants, and sun protection. Bringing a full water bottle is recommended. Tools and gloves are provided.
All participants must complete a Volunteer Waiver Form prior to the event or in person on the day of the event.
Registration is required. FREE. Meet at the park's AE Finley Visitor Center.

Come grow your agricultural and gardening knowledge with us for the day at Beech Bluff County Park! During this one-day camp, we will explore the agricultural legacy of the park, conduct experiments on best farming practices, and become garden chefs using the abundance of the land. Spend the day with plant pals and learn more about how we get our food from seeds in the soil to meals on our plates. Drop off begins at 8:30, and all participants must be picked up by 5:30pm. Participants bring their own lunch, snacks, and water bottle. This camp is open to ages 8 – 12 years old.
