Join us August 26 at 10 a.m. to explore A Year of Kites: Traditions Around the World by Monisha Bajaj, illustrated by Amber Ren. We'll learn how different cultures use kites in their various celebrations throughout the year. Then we'll make our own kites and attempt to fly them. Free and recommended for ages 5 and up. Registration is required for all participating children, and all kids must have a supervising adult(s).
This program will take place indoors in a climate-controlled space, with a trip outside to fly our new kites. Kite-flying may involve walking/running on grass and uneven surfaces and is weather dependent.

Join one of our naturalist staff members on a guided hike around the park to discover the plants and animals that live here! Come prepared to hike at least a mile on natural surfaces by wearing closed-toe shoes and bringing a full water bottle. Suggested for ages 8 and up; FREE. Registration is required for all family members, and children must have adult accompaniment. Please arrive at the park office five minutes early for program check-in.

This American Red Cross program is designed for beginners and intermediate-level swimmers. Students will be grouped according to skill level on the first day of class. Topics of instruction include basic aquatic skills, swimming strokes, personal water safety skills, and basic water rescue. If you want to become a better swimmer, this program will help you reach this goal. There are no pre-requisites for this course.
Ages: Age at least 19 yrs but less than 50 yrs,
The American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program consists of
several comprehensive levels that teach children of varying
abilities how to swim skillfully and safely. Each level includes
training in basic water safety. All aquatic and safety skills are
taught in a logical progression. Prerequisites for each level are:
Beginner: No pre-requisites; new to the pool, needing to learn
water adjustment skills and basic stroke techniques.
Intermediate: Able to fully submerge head, able to swim at
least 15 yards (half of pool length) of both front crawl and
elementary backstroke.
Ages: Age at least 6 yrs but less than 13 yrs,
Come experience a smooth and challenging workout class that incorporates a mix of cardio, strength training, and agility exercises that includes a series of exercises performed in a circuit format, targeting different muscle groups and increasing cardiovascular endurance.
