About the event

A Beginner-Friendly Workshop Hosted by Durham County Public Library & Give It To The People®

You've heard about AI. You might even be a little curious — or a little intimidated. This workshop is for you.

AI for the People is a free, hands-on workshop designed for everyday people who want to use artificial intelligence to simplify their lives, save time, and get more done — no tech background required.

Whether you're managing a household, running a small business, freelancing on the side, or just tired of feeling like AI is "not for you," this session will show you that it absolutely is.

This is a judgment-free zone. We move at a pace that works for beginners, and every question is a good question.

📱💻 Bring your laptop and/or cell phone — we'll be working live and hands-on, so you can practice in real time and leave with skills you've already tried.

What You'll Walk Away With:

✅ A clear, no-jargon understanding of what AI actually is and how it works

✅ Practical tools you can start using today — from planning and writing to organizing and problem-solving

✅ Entrepreneur-friendly tips for using AI to lighten your workload, sharpen your marketing, and free up your time

✅ Real confidence that YOU can use AI — right now, with what you already have
