Longleaf Forest Wagon Tour for Longleaf Ramble

As part of our 2026 Longleaf Ramble event, come out to Harris Lake County Park for a guided wagon tour to our 60-acre Longleaf forest and walk among our beautiful Longleaf Pines!

About the event

As part of our 2026 Longleaf Ramble event, come out to Harris Lake County Park for a guided wagon tour to our 60-acre Longleaf forest and walk among our beautiful Longleaf Pines! Learn about their special history to the area and the ecology of the Longleaf forest ecosystem, including the importance of prescribed fire. While you wait for your wagon ride, visit interactive educational exhibits from our organizational partner. Fun for all ages! Space is limited on the wagon. Meet at the wagon near the playground.

Voyager @ Books, Babies, & Brews

Join us for a Baby Storytime led by Franklin County Library, sensory exploration & coffee with Franklin County Parks and Recreation, and health education & resources provided by FCHD RIMC Program! This event is rain or shine, every Friday from Sept-Nov at 10:00 a.m., featuring different County Parks each month. It is designed for newborns to cruisers with an in-the-lap 15-minute Storytime and sensory toys appealing to younger babies. Storytime will start a few minutes after 10:00 a.m. and the rest of the hour is for free play, socializing, and taking advantage of the Bookmobile, Voyager!
