About the event

Relax and read with a dog and other animals! This program brings dogs and other animals together with emergent readers for 15 minutes of companionship. Handlers and their dogs provide quiet encouragement to children so that they might develop a love of reading and improve communication skills.

This program is geared towards elementary students, but all ages are welcome! This program will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10a.m.- 12p.m at North Regional Library. The address is 221 Milton Rd. Durham, NC 27712.

Please note that you may book one session per day, and sessions are 15 minutes long. Available time slots are as follows: 10: 00a.m, 10: 20a.m, and 10:30a.m.
