Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be certified as American Red Cross Lifeguards. Course includes CPR/AED and First Aid training. The course fee includes a textbook and a pocket mask.
Prerequisites: Participants must be at least 15 years of age and successfully complete the two prerequisite swimming skills evaluations. Prerequisite 1: Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest by jumping into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed). Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs. Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Prerequisite 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed). Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out at or near the surface. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
This is a blended learning class. Participants must complete the 7 hour online portion of the course prior to the first class. Information to register for the online portion will be emailed once registration has closed.

This is a fun class which teaches the basics of Tae Kwon Do and focuses on punches and kicks. Tae Kwon Do is a martial art originated in Korea and the name means 'the art of kicking and punching'. It is non-contact style so students learn the essential elements of this martial art in a safe, fun environment. The class helps build focus, respect, confidence, discipline, and self-defense skills. This class is suitable for anyone with little or no experience of martial arts. All equipment will be provided. The instructor is a Senior black belt instructor and member of USA Tae Kwon Do Masters Association.

Grab your jackets and hiking boots! During this abbreviated winter version of our Wilderness Warriors Camp, we will spend 3 action-packed days sharpening our survival skills. From tying knots and building shelters in the acres of woods to preparing and preserving food at the Harvest Hub, we will learn valuable survival techniques while navigating the unique environments of Beech Bluff. Drop off begins at 8:30 and all campers must be picked up by 5:30pm. Campers bring own lunch and snacks. This camp is open to campers ages 8 - 12 years.
